How to choose Perfect Wedding Reception Menu….

Have you been assigned the task of creating a wedding menu that leaves anyone who tastes it absolutely speechless because they will be blown away with the balance of all the beautiful flavors present in the meal? If so, let me tell you, you are not in a very comfortable position because planning a wedding menu can be extremely tedious especially if you do not know the right person to approach.

You can have about 3-5 appetizers before the big meal is served. They can be finger foods like chicken tempura, smoked salmon and crab, cheese straws, chocolate dipped walnuts, smoked trout pate, Breaded Shrimp, Chicken skewers, beef skewers, cheese stuffed bacon, asparagus rolls, mini meringue with hazelnut and crème. This way you can have vegetarian and non-vegetarian, hot and cold dishes served as appetizers.

Opening a salad bar is an excellent idea if you happen to be responsible for planning the wedding menu. You can include a variety of salads like the Mediterranean pasta salad, smoked salmon with fennel salad, seafood salad with raw mango, artichoke salad with tuna fish and tomatoes, tiger prawn with oriental salad, grilled vegetable with marinated mushrooms salad, marinated mushrooms with balsamic and dry tomatoes salad and so on. If there are guest in your list who are conscious of their health and prefer eating a plate full of salad than the whole meal, a salad bar is your best bargain.

When you begin to serve the meal, you may want to serve your guests a bit of soup so you could serve them something like a roasted pumpkin soup with almonds or a fresh tomato and basil soup with garlic crouton or perhaps a corn soup with prawn dumplings in it. One cannot possibly stick to a salad bar and appetizers during the wedding. You need to have a main course. This main course should be an assortment of wholesome food which is healthy as well as delicious. You can have food like grilled fillet of beef with wild mushroom sauce, chicken breast stuffed with a roasted red pepper, braised lamb, beef stroganoff, sautéed mixed vegetables with olive, Chicken Parmesan, gratin seafood in cream cheese sauce, glazed fondant potatoes, rack of lamb and a selection of bread rolls.

Know what your guests will not be grateful if you do not have drinks being served for them during dinner. Some think that champagne suffices but the truth is that it does not. You could have 2-3 fresh fruit juices from fruits of the season, a few soft drinks, iced and warm tea, along with piping hot coffee.

Your first impression need not necessarily be your last impression. Instead, both your first and last impression matter. Therefore, when you are thinking of choices for your dessert, think carefully. There has still not been born any man who does like desserts so you could fill your dessert bar with delicacies like tiramisu, apricot strudel with vanilla sauce, mango cheese cake, lemon meringue, passion fruit cream, date pudding, bred and butter pudding and finally a big, bad chocolate cake. Enjoy planning the wedding menu and the guests will enjoy themselves at the wedding just as much. So the key is to happily do whatever you undertake and serve others happily.
